WIOA HiSET Youth Program:
WIOA Youth Program provides young people who are out of school between the ages of 18-24 with the opportunity to obtain an education and find employment.
Our Mission:
The mission of the NEFWC WIOA Youth Program, and its caring staff, is to provide all youth with the opportunity for personal and professional growth through intensive case management, education, trainings, and collaborations. It will enable its youth to achieve educational advancement and quality employment that will allow them to become productive citizens and future leaders of the community.
Our Vision: To assit youth in their move toward self-suffiency.
How do I enroll?
Youth aged 18-24 who want to be enrolled into our program must set up an appointment with us to take the TABE Placement Test to configure what learning level you are currently at. Once you have taken your placement test, you will be notified on when you can begin studying for the HiSET.
What can I expect?
This is a self-paced program in which students study individually on the ALS System. We encourage students to go for their HiSET within a six month period when they are ready. Tutoring is offered on a request basis. Ask one of our staff to set up a tutoring date. If you would like to be set up in a work experience for six weeks while you are studying, speak to our Job Developer Mildred Sanchez. With your effort and the dedication from our staff, you will achieve your HiSet in no time.
